If real wood’s your thing, we can do that too. There are two options here, firstly, solid wood which is 100% natural wood, treated with a protective coating.
If cared for correctly, solid wood can last a lifetime. And periodically can be sanded and resealed to restore it to it’s former glory.
The second option is Engineered Wood, which is a very popular and cost effective alternative for those wishing to have a real wood finish. A veneer of hardwood is glued to a plywood backboard, making it far more stable and cheaper to manufacture.
The veneer allows the engineered plank to be carefully sanded and resealed 2-3 times. The extra stability a plywood backing gives it, means it can be installed in areas where solid wood can’t, such as rooms that have more moisture and temperature variations, kitchens and conservatories (not recommended for bathrooms). And you can also use it with underfloor heating.
There are some great benefits with engineered wood. If you purchase a dry-fit system from us, you even have the option of an uplift and refit of the flooring to another room if you choose to.
